Hero Dishonest from Helsinki, Finland turns 20 years this spring, and shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. The groups eighth full length album ”Maailma palaa taas” (The World Burns Again) spits its contents in the face of the listener in 20 minutes to mark the occasion.
Although Hero Dishonest has avoided musical growth out of its ”short and fast”-method, its writing has always been sharp and recognizable. Lasting between a minute or two, the songs are like AC/DC played at hyperspeed, not fast for the sake of being fast, but punk rock that endures years of listening.
The twisted and humorous lyrics are a bit more personal this time, although the stories about a middle-aged, withdrawn homebrewer often carry a seed of truth about todays alienating society.
The members of Hero Dishonest have played in The Heartburns, I Walk The Line, Echo Is Your Love and No Shame among others. A lot of these bands have fallen along the way, but Hero Dishonest goes on. The band has played hundreds of shows around the world since the turn of the turn of the century, mostly around Europe and the United States. They also have a steady following in for example Brazil, where their records are put out by Läjä Records.
The album was recorded by Saku Tamminen from the band Unkind, and the vocal recordings were done by the bands long time collaborator Samae Koskinen. The album was mastered by Jack Butcher from Enormous Door Mastering in Austin, Texas.
